Compliance Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer – Fletchers Group Hybrid – North West Office Base. Office Locations: Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Bolton, Southport, Newcastle, Reading, Birmingham, Northampton, Cambridge. Hybrid working available – flexibility to work from home and collaborate in‑office when needed. We are seeking a qualified legal professional with a passion for driving best‑practice compliance in a modern legal environment. Working closely with the Head of Compliance, you will provide expert guidance on compliance matters, ensure adherence to SRA Standards & Regulations and GDPR, support the business in maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct, influence firm‑wide compliance culture, collaborate across departments, and contribute to strategic business initiatives. Main Responsibilities
People Management – Coach, develop and support team members Provide legal and regulatory advice on compliance issues, particularly SRA Standards & Regulations, GDPR and other frameworks Keep up to date with regulatory changes and best practice Liaise with business stakeholders on statutory or regulatory changes and assist with implementation Draft policies, procedures and documents to ensure statutory & regulatory compliance Assist legal teams in proactively managing wider business risks Review and report statutory or regulatory considerations in planned business changes Assist with implementation of matters raised by the Internal Risk Committee or the Board Report to the Internal Risk Committee monthly on business risks and compliance issues Manage risk relationship with professional indemnity insurers and handle formal negligence claims Deliver general compliance KPIs and project‑specific KPIs
Essential Skills And Experience
Qualified and experienced Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer Experience working successfully in a legal compliance team Excellent interpersonal skills, able to form positive working relationships with a wide variety of team members and manage sensitivities of challenging legal practice Good understanding of delivering excellent customer service Ability to balance compliance with business drivers Experience coaching and supporting team members Ability to role‑model good practice leadership Technology literate, using technology to enhance legal services Strong analytical skills
