Are you passionate about improving the lives of Leicestershire County residents? Do you want to work on an exciting new project - Connect to Work, which aims to support Leicestershire residents into employment? At the Leicestershire County Council Adult Learning Service, we’re passionate about creating inclusive and accessible programmes which ensure all Leicestershire residents are supported to reach their full potential. Your role will be to assist in the effective and efficient delivery of the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) offer for adults across Leicestershire.
About the Role
Connect to Work aims to support disabled people, people with health conditions and individuals facing other barriers to move into and maintain employment. We’re looking for an experienced administrator to provide valuable support in setting up this new project. This role provides a real opportunity to use your creativity and problem-solving skills to design, implement and maintain administrative and financial processes for the whole project.
This is a part time 2-day a week role. There is flexibility in the hours and days worked (to be discussed at interview stage). Your base will be County Hall, with the option of hybrid working at home or our other centres. There may be the occasional requirement to travel across the county for meetings/events.
In this role, no two days will be the same, but some typical responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring financial and payroll reports are completed on time and meet Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) evidence requirements.
- Supporting the Project Manager with budget management using County Council monitoring and auditing systems.
- Providing advice on the best use of service resources.
- Giving support to the growing Connect to Work team to create and maintain a robust participant registration, tracking and monitoring system.
- Providing support to participants, including giving information and advice, resolving individual queries, and signposting to other activities.
- Marketing and promotion.
- Communicating with a variety of people - including internal staff, employers, participants and other groups - to achieve project goals.
- Maintaining an online file sharing system and making the best use of Microsoft/online software packages.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
About You
The Connect to Work Funding and Compliance Officer will have:
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in any field, with GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/Level 4 or above) (or able to demonstrate equivalent experience).
- Experience of budget monitoring and writing financial reports. With the ability to produce clear written information to aid non-finance managers.
- Excellent time management with experience of working to strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of current IT applications and ability to use them to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Experience of working on contracts and the administration that goes with that.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with a variety of different internal and external staff, participants and employers. Willingness to contribute to the wider team.
We also expect you to share our commitment to our values and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
Interested in Flexible Working?
We are keen to support employees to balance their working life with other commitments. Therefore, wherever possible, we will consider working arrangements that suit an individual’s personal circumstances whilst still meeting the needs of the Council.
