Construction Manager (Water Recycling) – Balfour Beatty (@one Alliance)

Location: Peterborough

@one Alliance is a partnership of eight leading companies—Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO—delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. As we enter AMP8, our most ambitious Asset Management Period, we are preparing to undertake our largest project yet. We are looking for a Construction Manager to lead the delivery of innovative solutions for AMP8.

As Construction Manager, you will lead on managing quality, cost, and timely delivery of all construction activities on site. You will manage the construction delivery team to ensure all activities comply with scheme deliverables from a developed solution at DM3, ready to go to site, aiming for Zero defects at DM4 in collaboration with the delivery team.

While primarily focused on managing construction delivery, you must adopt a broader pan-Alliance perspective, demonstrating appropriate alliancing behaviors and leadership skills within integrated teams.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and inspire site construction teams, managing resources across multiple projects.
  2. Ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective project delivery.
  3. Review and approve RAMS, ensuring full compliance with safety standards.
  4. Take ownership of constructability reviews, project rehearsals, and Fit for Assembly signoffs with the Project Delivery Manager.
  5. Oversee workforce allocation, optimizing efficiency across partner companies.
  6. Collaborate with the Site Manager to develop and implement construction phase plans.
  7. Manage direct labour teams from all partner companies.
  8. Work with other Construction Managers in the alliance to allocate the workforce weekly, based on location, skill set, and scheme duration.
  9. Co-create and collaborate on the production, submission, and compliance with construction phase plans with the Site Manager.

Who we're looking for

What We Are Looking For

  1. Experience managing operational resources in a multi-site construction environment.
  2. Experience within the water recycling industry (preferred).
  3. SMSTS and Site Environmental awareness training.
  4. CSCS card (Manager level).
  5. Minimum degree/HNC or equivalent qualification, e.g., NVQ Level 6.
  6. Full UK driving licence.
  7. Leadership skills.
