Construction Manager

We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our growing team. You’ll be joining Soben at an exciting time, playing a key role in helping us achieve our ambitious growth targets. Supporting one of our key Construction clients in the region.
This role involves the direct management of general contractors, coordination with subcontractors, close monitoring of project progress, and regular reporting to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in technical construction systems, contract administration, and exceptional organisational and communication skills.

In This Role You Will:
- Oversee General Contractor performance from project start through completion, ensuring quality, adherence to schedule, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Enforce H&S compliance in line with CDM and Principal Contractor obligations across all live project sites.
- Work with site management team to uphold quality and H&S standards and deliver projects on-time to industry leading standards
- Influence design team at feasibility and early design stages
- Prepare construction programmes that meet the needs of the client and project and maintain high level programme showing all current and anticipated projects
- Demonstrate buildability and construction knowledge to positively impact the project at both pre and post contract stages
- Coordinate with the General Contractor, Separate Contractors, and subcontractors to ensure collaboration, prevent scheduling conflicts, and address critical path items.
- Liase with client, professional team and supply chain to deliver construction projects on-time to the desired quality outputs
- Provide regular updates to client lead, keeping them abreast of any challenges and proposing solutions to resolve
- Monitor and enforce health and safety standards on-site, reporting all incidents promptly and ensuring compliance with regulatory and client-specific safety protocols.
- Manage project correspondence, including RFIs, Change Orders, and documentation, to ensure accurate and timely communication.
- Oversee the project schedule, anticipate long lead items, and identify critical paths to maintain efficient and timely project progress.
- Oversee the post-contract phase of works ensuring all snagging is undertaken promptly and all documentation and certification is provided
- Provide leadership to the design team consultants and specialist contractors during the construction phase
- Promote a positive approach to all tasks and activities
- Identify and encourage best practice
- Ensure all construction management activities are carried out in line with client specific processes
- Work closely with QS team during procurement, construction and post PC, ensuring collaboration throughout to deliver
- Attend regular project review meetings with client, providing detailed updates on all live construction projects
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in construction project management or owner’s representative role ideally within data centre or similar technical environments.
- In-depth understanding of construction contracts, design specifications, and health and safety regulations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
