RPS is seeking experienced Heritage Consultants to join our Built Heritage Team, working on major heritage projects across the UK. We offer hybrid working arrangements based in London, Abingdon, Gloucester, or Edinburgh.

About The Opportunity:

Our Heritage Team specializes in UK projects, renowned for high-quality work for clients including English Heritage and Historic Royal Palaces, major developers, and property owners. Current projects include regenerating a Grade I listed Castle, expanding a Garden Town sustainably, and repurposing Cold War Heritage sites.

Enjoy working with interdisciplinary teams and innovative architects on diverse developments daily.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Assist Built Heritage Directors with project delivery
• Conduct historic research and analysis of buildings and areas
• Provide advice on repairs and alterations to heritage assets
• Prepare Heritage Statements and contribute to EIAs
• Develop Conservation Management Plans and Strategies
• Engage with clients, planning authorities, and stakeholders

About You:

• Commercially aware with pragmatic problem-solving skills
• Experienced in conservation documentation and planning applications
• Confident in stakeholder engagement for residential, distribution, and renewable schemes
• Heritage sector experience with career growth ambitions
• Excellent communication skills
• Degree or master's in historic conservation
• Working towards IHBC Full or Associate Membership
• Knowledge of historic buildings, places, and the UK planning system
