Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics (interest in Foot & Ankle) Join to apply for the Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics (interest in Foot & Ankle) role at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Applications are invited for a consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery who are fellowship trained in foot & ankle surgery. The post arises to cover the substantial workload in trauma and the expansion in foot & ankle surgery elective workload at NNUH with the building of a new ring‑fenced elective orthopaedic facility (NANOC). The successful candidate will work alongside 3 existing foot & ankle surgeons. The role may require working across the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group, potentially at multiple sites. Expected duties include carrying out the whole spectrum of arthroscopic and open foot and ankle surgery, diabetic foot management, ankle replacement, primary acute trauma management, and elective/trauma lists. On‑call intensity is 1 in 18, with a 6‑weekly rota system and a primary trauma commitment. The new consultant should be competent in all areas of acute trauma and be willing to join a Major Trauma Centre as it develops over the next 2‑5 years. Core responsibilities: acute trauma management, elective foot & ankle surgery, multidisciplinary referrals, participation in Major Trauma Centre mechanisms, flexible working patterns, team collaboration and service delivery development. Qualifications: fellowship trained in foot & ankle surgery; experience of diabetic foot management and ankle replacement surgery is advantageous; competency in primary acute trauma management; willingness to work across multiple sites.
