Consultant Mechanical Engineer (Hydrostatic Control)

Position: Permanent

Our client, a global manufacturing company, is seeking a Consultant Mechanical Engineer (Hydrostatic Control) to join their team. The role is permanent with a salary of up to £61,900 per annum.

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Frimley, Filton, or Manchester.

Working arrangements: Mostly remote, 2 days every 2 weeks, and as required on-site.

Salary: Max £61,967 + 10% Bonus

Responsibilities:

  1. Capture and approve functional requirements for Hydrostatic Control according to company and programme processes.
  2. Deliver a coherent functional design for Hydrostatic Control and wider AVCS, covering mechanical systems, C&I equipment, HMI, and software.
  3. Define test objectives, scenarios, and sea trials for V&V of the design and integrated system, focusing on system performance and operator use.
  4. Provide technical specialist input, reviews, and support for projects beyond immediate scope.
  5. Manage stakeholder engagement throughout the design process to ensure the solution meets Royal Navy requirements.
