RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a varied caseload involving contentious probate matters.
  • Advise clients on disputes related to wills, estates, and trusts.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including statements of case and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies.
  • Represent clients in hearings and conferences.
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues on complex cases.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.
  • Participate in business development and client relationship activities

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified Solicitor registered in England and Wales NQ +
  • Solid background within disputes resolution ideally dealing with contentious probate matters.
  • Experience contributing to business development initiatives and fostering strong client relationships and a willingness to attend networking events.
  • Ideally you will be a member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists but this is not essential.
  • A confident and approachable communicator, able to provide clear and empathetic advice to clients on complex issues relating to wills, estates, and trusts.
  • Excellent drafting and writing skills.
  • Proactive and analytical when conducting legal research to support case strategies, demonstrating critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Comfortable representing clients in hearings, conferences, and other legal proceedings, with the confidence to advocate effectively in court.
  • A collaborative team player, working well with senior colleagues on complex cases, and open to feedback and further development.
  • Highly organised and diligent, with a proven ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date client records while meeting legal deadlines.
  • Results‑driven and client‑focused, able to balance legal expertise with a practical understanding of clients' needs and expectations.
