Working with the Deloitte Associate (Contractor) Programme means we can offer you the opportunity to work on a variation of industry and client related projects. Our aim is to retain the best talent and so when your project end date nears our team of Talent Community Advisors will be working with you to look at alternative projects within the firm that suit your experience should you wish to continue with Deloitte.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the IT Portfolio Management team. You will plan, execute and monitor your projects, build strong relationships with your business stakeholders, understand their strategic direction, processes and requirements. As a trusted advisor, you will advise on all elements of the project delivery. You will have experience working in an agile environment with multiple stakeholders at varying levels of seniority and equally be able to adapt to traditional project management approaches as required, to support the business’ objectives. You will be accountable for delivering your projects in full and their alignment with the agreed benefits through a value driven approach.

Responsibilities include

  • Manage the scope of your assigned projects (both software/products and/or infrastructure projects) and the production of relevant project deliverables and assurance artefacts
  • Identify project risks and issues, escalating where appropriate, in a timely manner
  • Manage the expectations and satisfaction of the stakeholders
  • Implement effective change control by ensuring project change impacts are assessed and communicated so all parties are aligned
  • Implement an effective project business change approach to ensure business adoption is successful and the ROI can be realised
  • Ensure project resources and budgets are tracked and kept up to date
  • Develop and distribute timely status reporting with key metrics to appropriate stakeholders
  • Follow and align with the organisation’s processes, governance framework and best practice
  • Own and engage in all stages of the agile development process – planning, stand-up, show-and-tell and retrospective ceremonies
  • Work closely with the product owners to ensure the backlog is sufficiently prioritised for the next iteration
  • Manage, coach and motivate the project team
  • Communicate with openness, honesty and respect in all situations and be adept at conflict resolution and direction setting.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experienced Project Manager with Agile and Scrum, from Professional Services, Financial Services or Commercial sector
  • An SME with experience of large scale transformation delivery
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written that inspire confidence in business stakeholders and the team
  • Good commercial awareness and experience of managing budgets and resource utilisation
  • Organised and able to respond to changing priorities
  • Analytical and flexible with the ability to rapidly understand ambiguous and complex concepts
  • Ability to understand the commitment to deliver the project on time through the use of Agile tools (where appropriate), the value of metrics and incremental delivery

Deliverables

  • Responsibilities but not limited to: Evaluate existing solutions against the requirements and if necessary, conduct an RFP process to identify suitable alternatives
  • Creation of another business case for refinement of the scope and requirements of the full implementation phase
  • Based on the findings of the discovery phase, design, build, and implement the chosen solution
