What You’ll Do
- Provide commercial and contract management guidance to designated Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).
- Act as the Customer’s key point of contact on contractual matters.
- Prepare and submit commercial bids/proposals, providing strategic and commercially sound guidance on contracts and opportunities within the Business.
- Apply an understanding of Leonardo’s Life Cycle Management and other business processes to meet objectives.
- Manage commercial bid approvals in line with governance processes and delegated authorities.
- Draft clear and concise key correspondence.
- Produce accurate and compliant pricing in support of proposals.
- Prepare, draft and negotiate Customer terms and conditions of contract and other non-standard agreements, seeking support from the legal department and IPT where appropriate.
- Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues, Customers and Partners to deliver value to the company.
- Work with Procurement to ensure flow-down of key Customer terms and conditions.
- Mentor and provide support to direct reports and less experienced team members.
What We Need From You
- Advanced knowledge and experience in commercial matters, knowledge of contract law, with excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated collaboration, communication, planning, problem solving, influencing, decision making and continuous improvement skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong customer relationships with internal and external customers and partners.
- Solid relevant experience; technical training to degree standard, professional qualification and/or significant domain experience.
- Strong understanding of business governance, life cycle management and business processes with the ability to apply them independently.
- Ability to provide advice and guidance to customers and to manage people with development of competencies for the function.
- Ability to engage and influence cross-functional/cross-site teams.
- Eligible for full UK security clearance.
Desirable Experience
- Aerospace and Defence contracting experience.
- SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
- Import and Export Control knowledge, including UK, ITAR.
