Responsibilities

What you'll do

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of control frameworks to ensure robust governance across all legal entity reporting activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of risk and control self-assessments (RCSA) as well as regulatory compliance management (RCM), identifying areas for improvement and remediation.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives including attestation processes, reconciliations, evidence management, end-user computing checks, sample testing, and periodic internal/external report reviews.
  • Maintain an up-to-date document library that captures end-to-end processes and procedures across all relevant functions within the department.
  • Drive continuous improvement by automating existing processes and strengthening controls to mitigate operational risks effectively.
  • Produce high-quality management information (MI) reports that inform decision-making at senior levels and support regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across statutory reporting, regulatory reporting, change management, and controls teams to foster a culture of shared responsibility for risk mitigation.
  • Utilise expert knowledge of finance technology components such as front office trade systems, sub-ledgers, general ledgers, and reporting suites to streamline workflows.
  • Champion a culture of transparency, accuracy, and accountability throughout all aspects of legal entity reporting.

What you'll bring

  • A recognised finance qualification such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA or CFA is highly beneficial due to the focus on creating a strong control environment within financial services.
  • Extensive experience working in a reporting or control environment with proven exposure to regulatory reporting requirements is essential for this role.
  • A deep understanding of financial statements combined with strong numeracy skills enables you to analyse complex data sets accurately.
  • Demonstrated accounting experience within capital markets products including cash securities, repos, derivatives along with commercial acumen is required.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications supports your ability to manage documentation and produce high-quality reports efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance technology components such as front office trade systems, sub-ledgers, general ledgers, and reporting suites is necessary for streamlining operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills allow you to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
