Job Description
Corporate Sustainability Lead — Croydon Head Office (from 2 days per week) + Remote Working. Salary £56,000 - £60,000 per annum with excellent benefits including Civil Service pension. Tenure: Permanent. Position type: Full Time or Part Time (from 3 days per week) – applications can be considered. Closing Date: Sunday 21st September.

About the Pension Protection Fund
The Pension Protection Fund’s main function is to provide compensation to members of eligible defined benefit pension schemes when there is a qualifying insolvency event in relation to the employer, and where there are insufficient assets in the pension scheme to cover the Pension Protection Fund level of compensation. The PPF is the size of a top 5 pension scheme in the UK, managing over £30 billion AUM for almost 300,000 members, with an exceptional team of over 450 people. We have won IPE Pension Fund of the Year 4 times in the past 5 years and have an exceptional reputation. We proudly play a unique and very valuable role in the UK pension industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the PPF Corporate Sustainability Plan, ensuring sustainability goals are aligned with our core business operations.
- Coordinate working groups and build relationships with all teams involved with the corporate sustainability strategy.
- Agree quantitative environmental, supply chain and other sustainability metrics to measure progress.
- Translate insights into developed environmental reduction plans.
- Improve the PPF’s technical understanding of the latest corporate sustainability reporting standards to ensure the PPF meets applicable reporting requirements.
- Utilise experience of sustainability approaches from within the financial services / pensions industry to drive initiatives, understand reporting requirements, and apply best practices.
- Influence stakeholders and obtain buy-in from the business; role model sustainability practices across the employee population.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Experience driving sustainability initiatives across an organisation, with understanding of reporting frameworks and best practices that guide delivery.
- Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills with experience presenting to non-technical and technical audiences.
- Ability to communicate effectively and secure buy-in from diverse teams.
