Corporate Tax Manager

For over one hundred years our client has been providing professional, personal and friendly accounting and tax services to corporates, partnerships, charities and individuals.

Our client is looking to recruit a Corporate Tax Manager to join their growing tax team. Reporting to the Corporate Tax Partner, the candidate would ideally be either CTA Qualified or a Qualified Accountant from a mid- to top-tier accountancy practice with significant corporation tax experience.

You will be working within a specialist tax team, and you must be able to demonstrate strong Corporate Tax compliance & advisory expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to and working closely with the tax partner, senior management and with audit partners on various tax compliance and advisory matters
  • Reviewing corporate & LLP tax returns and ensuring that work is turned around on a timely basis
  • Reviewing a portfolio of non-resident corporate landlords, and reviewing capital allowance claims and the tax consequences of leasing transactions
  • Managing corporate tax compliance matters for large groups
  • Considering the impact of changes in tax legislation
  • Preparing more complicated tax returns involving corporate interest restriction rules, transfer pricing, permanent establishments and non-resident landlord rules
  • Advising on UK WHT issues.
  • Undertaking tax due diligence projects for a range of clients
  • R&D Tax credit claim management
  • Managing quarterly instalment payment deadlines for large and very large groups
  • Liaising with HMRC in relation to tax enquiries
  • Responsible for client relationships, liaising with clients, attending client meetings
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities and drafting proposals for client consideration
  • Billing, budget, and WIP management on a regular basis, ensuring good fee recoverability
  • Portfolio management, updating client workflows
  • Being actively involved in business development activities
  • Complying with all departmental procedures to ensure the smooth running of the team and department
  • Staff mentoring and performing the 'people manager' function to support staff professional development
  • Contributing to the firm's marketing strategy, including producing articles for the website
  • Using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and the CCH software suite
