Overview

Join to apply for the Court of Protection Associate Lawyer role at Slater and Gordon Lawyers (UK). We are recruiting for a talented Associate Lawyer to join our first-class Court of Protection team in Manchester. Our Court of Protection team specialises in property and affairs, providing assistance to act in the best interests of people who lack the mental capacity to make decisions for themselves. We work with national charities across the UK and support clients to safeguard their welfare and finances. We handle matters for individuals with conditions such as learning disabilities, mental illness, brain injuries or dementia.

We are looking for a lawyer who can advise on all aspects of property and affairs within Court of Protection, including deputyship applications, statutory wills, gifts, property transactions and personal injury trusts. There will be a caseload to manage, along with assisting our senior lawyers on high-value, sensitive cases. The ability to empathise and communicate clearly and concisely is paramount as the role involves working very closely with our clients, their families and other professionals. It’s extremely vital to have previous experience within property and affairs work in Court of Protection; however, we would consider candidates with a background in related fields such as Private Client, Mental Capacity or Personal Injury.
