Court of Protection Solicitor

New Today

Join one of the largest and most established Court of Protection teams in Merseyside. This is a standout opportunity for a Court of Protection Solicitor with 4+ PQE who’s ready to take on more responsibility within a thriving and collaborative team.

You’ll join a Legal 500-recognised practice that has built one of the largest Court of Protection teams in the region. This is a replacement hire for a key team member who’s moving on, so you’ll inherit a busy, varied caseload from day one and be positioned as a senior presence within the department.

You’ll be supported by an experienced leadership team and have the chance to play a vital part in mentoring and guiding junior colleagues. If you're a Grade A or strong Grade B fee earner with a genuine passion for this area of law, this could be your next long-term move.

Who we’re looking for

  • Court of Protection Solicitor with 4+ years’ PQE
  • Experience handling a caseload of CoP work, ideally including deputyship and complex client needs
  • Grade A or Grade B fee earner status
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers
  • Compassionate, collaborative, and highly organised

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage your own caseload of Court of Protection files
  • Act as a point of support and guidance for junior lawyers and paralegals
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the team and wider firm
  • Deliver high levels of client service and demonstrate strong technical knowledge
  • Get involved in growing the department and supporting future recruitment

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and grading
  • Location: Merseyside (with hybrid working)
  • Flexibility: Hybrid working available (typically 2–3 days WFH)
  • Progression: Clear path to more senior roles and long-term career development
  • Team: Friendly, supportive, and collaborative with excellent internal knowledge-sharing

If you want to step into a senior-level role and help shape the future of a highly respected Court of Protection team, this could be a perfect fit. Please note that we are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
