About the role:
Whalar’s Creator & Social Strategist, EMEA plays a pivotal role in developing and executing innovative creator-first strategies for key clients and across new business pitches.
With a solid foundation in creative and social media strategy you will proactively contribute to our dynamic team, pushing creative boundaries on some of the world’s most exciting brands, reporting to the EMEA Director of Creative Strategy.
This role is an opportunity to be part of the team leading the future of creator-first creative strategy.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Lead development of creative, culturally relevant, insight-driven strategies that put creators at the centre of brand storytelling
- Build full-funnel social strategies tailored to the distinct roles of platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit.
- Translate brand and campaign objectives into actionable creator-led ideas, content frameworks, and publishing plans
- Partner with internal teams & partner agencies to identify and activate creators who authentically align with brand values and campaign goals
- Own and shape social ecosystems that integrate organic and paid tactics, aligned with performance and content goals
- Inspire clients with strategic direction and creative possibilities grounded in data, culture, and platform trends
- Lead and facilitate strategic workshops with clients, helping them unlock the full creative and commercial potential of creator-led marketing
- Stay ahead of emerging cultural signals, platform changes, and content trends to inform strategies and proactive thought leadership
- Collaborate across pitches, campaigns, and onboarding moments, owning timelines and deliverables from strategic inception through to execution
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- 8+ years in creative, social media or content strategy within a digital or creator-first environment
- Proven experience developing creator & social campaigns that deliver upon business & marketing objectives
- A strategic thinker with a strong grasp of the full marketing funnel and the role creator-led content plays.
- Builds strategies rooted in business goals, with a clear grasp of when to use paid, earned, or organic approaches based on audience, objectives, and platform context
- Platform fluency across key channels (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), including an understanding of formats, algorithms and user behaviours
- Experience designing social ecosystems with content calendars, audience segmentation and measurement frameworks
- Strong cultural curiosity and an instinct for storytelling that resonates with audiences and drives brand relevance
- Skilled at distilling data into actionable insights that shape creative and strategic direction
- A clear, persuasive communicator who brings energy and clarity to team collaborations and client conversations
- Confident leading workshops, brainstorms and presentations with senior stakeholders
- Highly organised with strong project management instincts and a collaborative approach
- A natural relationship builder who can earn trust, provide strategic leadership and identify growth opportunities for clients and teams
