Overview

Credit Controller (Contractor - 3 Month Term) role at Smartly. We are looking for a Credit Controller specializing in Accounts Receivable to join our Global Finance team in Helsinki/London for a 3-month fixed term contract.

Smartly has grown rapidly into a global business with 14 legal entities worldwide. You will be part of the Smartly Global Finance team and join an international group of professionals. This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment with opportunities to make a meaningful impact on the company. You will play a key part in evolving our customer-facing communications and cash collection activities.

Hybrid work arrangement from the Helsinki or London office is expected, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

• Proactively work with customers to collect payments and resolve issues
• Manage cash collection reporting and analysis across multiple geographic regions
• Contact clients via phone, email, and written communication to chase outstanding balances
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance to resolve payment disputes and maintain positive client relationships
• Prepare weekly and monthly debtors reports for management
• Recommend accounts for escalation to legal or external debt collection when necessary
• Contribute to process improvements to optimize collections and reduce DSO
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Several years of relevant experience in finance/credit control
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with attention to detail
• Results-oriented with a collaborative mindset and interest in automating and improving processes
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and Google Suite (Sheets)
• Ability to work in English in a work context
• Experience with Netsuite and Salesforce is considered an advantage
• Experience in customer service is considered an advantage
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity from Helsinki/London office, minimum 3 days a week
• Willingness to work during EMEA/NORAM hours as applicable
