OverviewCyber Security Consultant (Encryption) – Remote with up to 70% travel. We are seeking an experienced Professional Services Consultant with deep expertise in Thales Hardware Security Modules (HSM), CipherTrust Manager (CM), and payShield solutions.Thales Cybersecurity Products are at the heart of digital security. Our consultants deploy and implement data security solutions in customer enterprise environments, evaluating security configurations and providing solutions for cybersecurity and information risk management to clients. This is a highly hands-on, technical role with extensive customer-facing responsibilities, working with cross-functional teams at customer sites focusing on IT security, encryption, and key management to install and configure our data security products.This role encompasses end-to-end implementation lifecycle activities including planning, design, deployment, integration, and post-implementation support of Thales security solutions for enterprise customers. Responsibilities

Planning: Engage with customers to gather requirements, define implementation scope, and develop detailed project plans aligned with security and compliance objectives. Solution Design: Architect secure key management, encryption, and access control frameworks using Thales HSM and CM, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards. Implementation & Integration: Install, configure, and integrate HSMs, CM, and related cryptographic solutions into customer environments; include validation and testing. Consultation: Provide training and expert recommendations during projects. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Produce design guides, configuration documentation, and runbooks; deliver knowledge transfer sessions to customer technical teams. Stakeholder Engagement: Present solutions, progress, and best practices to technical and executive stakeholders, internally and externally.

Right for this role

Lead the end-to-end implementation lifecycle from planning through post-implementation support for Thales security solutions in enterprise environments. Strong experience implementing encryption and key management solutions. Experience in onsite and remote project delivery models.

Technical

Thales HSM Expertise: Hands-on product knowledge and certification in general-purpose and payment HSMs (preferably Luna and payShield) with proven deployment, configuration, and integration experience. CipherTrust Suite Proficiency: Knowledge of CipherTrust Manager (CM), CipherTrust Transparent Encryption (CTE), CipherTrust Cloud Key Manager (CCKM), and related Thales security modules, including policy creation and enforcement. Database Encryption Solutions: Experience encrypting databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server TDE, Oracle TDE) for data-at-rest protection. Cryptographic Protocols: KMIP, PKCS#11, REST API, SNMP, TLS for secure communications and integrations. Key & Certificate Lifecycle Management: Key generation, distribution, rotation, revocation, and certificate lifecycle in line with industry best practices. Automation & Integration: Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, PowerShell) for deployment automation and system integrations. Technical Documentation: Ability to capture requirements, produce implementation guides, and write technical response papers. Cloud Experience: Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud. Infrastructure Experience: MSSQL DB, Oracle DB/Storage environments.
