Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Product & Performance Data Analyst to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role is responsible for leveraging fraud prevention and product performance data to assess the potential value of new products and features, enable continuous product improvement and monitor performance.

The role offers the opportunity to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that inform research and development, product development, optimise user experience, and support strategic business objectives. By integrating robust analytical methods with a thorough understanding of product life cycles, the role ensures that every product decision is grounded in evidence and aligned with organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing data insights that inform enhancements, innovations, and refinements to existing and future products, ensuring they improve the fraud prevention value of our products.
  • Testing data science led approaches to exploiting Cifas fraud prevention data and third-party data sets to identify opportunities to increase fraud prevention value while reducing false positives.
  • Establishing and maintaining performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to track product success and identify areas for intervention.
  • Performing data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using SQL or Python and Fabric components.
  • Documenting analytical processes, methodologies, and findings for transparency and reproducibility.
  • Working with the Product and Technical teams to migrate tested and validated concepts into the live environments.
  • Staying updated with the latest features and best practices in Microsoft Fabric and other relevant data exploitation tools.
  • Working in collaboration with colleagues across Cifas, ensure compliance with information governance standard of data management.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree level education or equivalent ideally in data science, computer science, information systems or related field and/or relevant previous work experience.
  • Microsoft certifications related to Power BI or Microsoft Fabric. Experience of working with Fabric at an intermediate level is a pre-requisite for the role.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, with familiarity with data science and data modelling techniques and best practices. (Essential)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python or R for data manipulation and analysis. (Essential)
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric components, including Data Factory, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse. (Essential)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of curiosity. (Essential)
  • Knowledge of data governance and security principles. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of the fraud and financial crime landscape and the principles of fraud prevention and Data Protection legislation is this environment (Preferred).
  • High levels of diligence, continually checking information to maintain a high degree of accuracy and setting an example to others regarding the quality of their work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, adapting to suit all situations and people, understanding needs of others, and communicating accordingly.
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter, motivated and enthusiastic in identifying solutions, delivering priorities, whilst operating with a level of autonomy.

Note: Cifas are unable to offer visa sponsorship or work permits. Following a business review, there is a possibility that this role may become permanent. Therefore, the ideal candidate is required to have a right to work status that would enable them to take on a permanent position. Please note, no permanent position is guaranteed.
