NB This is a fixed term contract for a minimum period of 6 months. We are looking for a Data & Analytics Manager to oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data that drives strategic decision-making across our Academic function. This role supports the Head of Data & Analytics in building a robust data roadmap by gathering stakeholder requirements and prioritising projects aligned with business needs. You'll drive a data-led culture by managing Tableau training, improving data literacy, and enabling smarter decisions across teams. Collaborating with senior leaders and functional stakeholders, you'll help guide change and embed data-driven practices, while also supporting the implementation of a data governance strategy and promoting best practices in data handling and documentation. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all data-related queries within their Academic department, acting as a subject matter expert across both local and cross-functional initiatives. You will support the creation of a transparent data delivery roadmap, develop and maintain KPIs, and produce insightful reports and visualisations to guide strategic decisions. The role involves applying predictive modelling, managing Tableau training to boost data literacy, and ensuring compliance with data governance standards. Additionally, the manager collaborates with internal and external data teams to monitor data quality, implements best practices in analytics and documentation, and stays up to date with emerging trends to enhance the department's data capabilities.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have/be:

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and statistical software (e.g., R, Python).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in data governance, compliance, and security practices (desirable)
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms (desirable)
  • Experience with BI Tools like Alteryx, or similar applications (desirable)
