About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our growing architecture team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in data architecture, solution design, and enterprise integration who is eager to shape modern, scalable, and resilient systems. While experience with AWS and cloud platforms is valuable, the focus of this role is on designing data-driven architectures that meet complex business needs.

As a Data Architect, you will partner with business leaders, lead architects, and engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical designs. You’ll define data and integration architectures, establish best practices, and guide delivery teams to ensure solutions are secure, performant and aligned with long-term business and technology strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and documentation of end-to-end solution architectures with a strong emphasis on data platforms, integrations, and enterprise-scale systems.
  • Support the definition and evolution of data architectures, ensuring scalability, reliability, and consistency across applications and platforms.
  • Work with stakeholders to evaluate technical requirements and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions, leveraging cloud-native patterns and AWS services where appropriate.
  • Produce and maintain architecture artifacts, including reference architectures, technical diagrams, and architecture decision records.
  • Collaborate with engineers, developers, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are implemented in line with architectural designs.
  • Participate in proof-of-concepts (POCs) and technical evaluations of new tools, technologies, and platforms in the data and integration space.
  • Ensure solutions align with architectural standards, security policies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in data architecture, integration, and cloud technologies, sharing knowledge and best practices with the wider team.

Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Strong experience in solution and data architecture, with a track record of designing and delivering enterprise-scale systems.
  • Hands-on knowledge of modern data platforms (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, streaming architectures, APIs, event-driven systems).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, ideally AWS (e.g., S3, RDS, Redshift, Lambda, IAM, Glue, Kinesis).
  • Solid understanding of integration patterns, system design, and enterprise data management principles.
  • Familiarity with security, compliance, and governance considerations in data and cloud environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.

Why Apply?

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Up to 5% employer pension contribution
  • Educational allowance, training programmes, certifications, conference attendance, and other activities to help employees stay current with new technologies and industry trends.
