What you will do

  • Act as trusted advisor to board-level stakeholders; co-create enterprise-wide data & AI roadmaps, operating models and investment cases.
  • Shape and execute annual practice plan—investment, hiring plan, capability build, M&A or venturing plays, ensuring a healthy team pyramid and team members’ career progress and happiness
  • Sponsor development of proprietary accelerators, GenAI offerings, and industry solutions
  • Oversight across the entire UK data portfolio and team
  • Translate business problems to analytics solutions with clear output. Translate analytical output to drive business decisions that create impact.
  • Oversee project delivery required to meet client expectations.
  • Responsibilities include overall project delivery quality, development of presentations, and management of external relationships.
  • Function as a sounding board for data and analytics-related questions of client business leadership.
  • Seek compelling opportunities beyond the scope of the current project and show a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Guide more junior members of the team, while orchestrating the work of the entire team. Drive team growth and development for the members of the team.
  • Foster and grow the data team’s skillsets, culture and ways of working.
  • Provide technical oversight of analytical approaches, code and model reviews, MLOps standards, data governance compliance, and help to unblock complex challenges
  • Be able to technically manage projects
  • Lead on proposals and RfP responses
  • Lead global data initiatives and communities of practice
  • Building a £3m pipeline of Data practice work by leading on commercial efforts, leveraging networks, and support existing relationships and expanding client engagements.

What you will bring

  • Master's (or Ph.D.) degree in a quantitative field with a focus on data analysis (e.g. computer science, econometrics, AI, engineering, mathematics, physics, and other exact sciences).
  • 10+ years of consulting experience or relevant industry experience, with at least 3+ years at a senior leadership level and a strong network in the UK market.
  • Sharp thinking ability to be able to differentiate major contributors from irrelevant details quickly, and to structure information residing in the data under analysis hierarchically.
  • Robust knowledge of statistical concepts, accompanied by expertise with a set of analytical tools ranging from databases (e.g. SQL, BigQuery, noSQL) to programming languages (e.g. R, Python, Spark), and from data visualisation (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) to machine learning.
  • Deep expertise in advanced analytics, data science and traditional analytics.
  • High-level understanding of data engineering and data strategy.
  • Strong understanding of at least one cloud stack (e.g., Azure, AWS, GC)
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver projects with expert team members and to provide inspiring guidance to juniors in the team.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially to explain complex analytical concepts in non-technical terms to business users.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience in Retail and consumer goods is highly advantageous.
  • Experience integrating GenAI / LLM solutions into enterprise workflows.
  • Experience in consulting (including internal consultancies) is highly advantageous.
  • Professional fluency in English required.
