The Product Management Team are responsible for the management of these key business applications. In support we work in conjunction with an ever-increasing number of Vendors, Partners and Softcat Stakeholders.

Your role

We are seeking a Data Business Analyst to support our new Data to Insight IT capability, in particular Master Data Management (MDM) and Product Information Management (PIM) processes, ensuring data integrity, optimisation, and strategic alignment across Softcat. This role will play a key part in mapping current data workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and driving improvements in data governance, structure, and usability.

As we refine our data strategy, this position will focus on ensuring high-quality, structured, and accessible product and business data to support seamless integration across platforms, enhanced analytics, and better decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in data management, and a keen eye for data governance and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in establishing and refining MDM frameworks, ensuring data consistency and usability across Softcat
  • Contribute to the evaluation and selection of the right MDM and PIM tools, ensuring they align with business needs and support seamless integration across platforms
  • Analyse existing data management workflows, identifying inefficiencies and areas for automation or improvement
  • Support the establishment of standards for data integrity, validation, enrichment, and compliance, ensuring alignment with business needs and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with IT, product, commercial, and operations teams to define data requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Evaluate the business and customer impact of changes to data structures, ensuring data initiatives are effectively prioritised

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or Data Analyst role with a focus on Master Data Management and/or PIM systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Understanding of data structures, governance, and integration principles, with experience supporting data migration and transformation projects
  • Experience in data mapping, modelling, and validation techniques
  • Familiarity with API integrations and data exchange processes between PIM, ERP, ecommerce, and other enterprise platforms
