WSP is looking for an experienced Data Consultant to join our industry-leading Intelligent Infrastructure team. We provide technical professional services to transport clients throughout the UK and overseas to deliver tangible value for through technology enabled change. You can join our Intelligent Infrastructure discipline and make a tangible impact by contributing to high-profile public sector projects. You\'ll play a key role in supporting clients like National Highways and Danish Road Directorate as SMEs for transport data. We provide expertise in data analysis, data management practices, and cloud-based implementation, delivering solutions for clients including National Highways and TfWRL.

As a Technical Data Consultant, you will lead tasks as part of a team on projects to provide client facing advisory and assurance services, mainly working with spatial data analysis including GIS which will be a required proficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with clients, partners, and supply chains to solve complex business and technical problems
  • Leading small teams to implement data engineering, analytics and reporting solutions
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and develop data science models to uncover insights
  • Support development of data strategy, roadmaps for data initiatives and solution design for our clients
  • Acting as a technical authority and providing assurance services
  • Contributing to proposals and helping to plan and deliver work within a project or programme environment
  • Acting as a Data champion within our team and in our global networks, providing mentorship, support and guidance across projects and bids

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or higher Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience and qualifications
  • Experience in spatial data analysis, including GIS data analysis and proficiency with various GIS tools
  • Experience in independently delivering technical tasks within data projects
  • Client-facing experience such as gathering requirements, presenting analysis, or facilitating testing of solutions
  • Conducting discovery activities and working with stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs
  • Strong analytical skills and a proven ability to think creatively to solve problems
  • Experience of utilizing a variety of data tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, etc
  • Delivery of data reporting solutions using Power BI/other BI tools
  • Exposure to best practices in data management, including data quality
  • Development of data documentation for data processes and solutions
