Underwriting Governance Analyst
London | Global Reinsurance Group | Hybrid | Permanent
Exclusively retained by DATAHEAD
Are you ready to shape the underwriting governance framework for one of the most dynamic reinsurance groups operating today?
We’ve been exclusively retained by a global, publicly listed reinsurance business to appoint an Underwriting Governance Analyst - a critical role supporting the CUO in overseeing delegated authority portfolios, enhancing governance controls, and driving high-quality reporting across multiple lines of business.
Note: For purposes of this description, we keep the language focused on responsibilities, qualifications, and expectations.
Why this role?
- Group-level visibility across a wide portfolio (Cyber, Marine, Aviation, Energy, Property and more)
- Work in a listed, SEC-reporting environment with board-level exposure
- Blend of analytical rigour, underwriting controls, and strategic influence
- Collaborate closely with CUOs and third-party underwriting partners
What you’ll be doing
- Monitor and enforce adherence to underwriting governance frameworks and delegated authority agreements
- Track underwriting KPIs, SLAs, and binder metrics (premium/exposure limits, reporting obligations)
- Produce high-quality MI packs, board papers, and committee reporting
- Oversee coverholder audits and follow-up actions
- Contribute to new business assessments and third-party underwriting frameworks
- Partner with CUOs and internal teams across underwriting, claims, operations, compliance, and finance
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years in underwriting, governance, or portfolio analytics within the (re)insurance sector
- Strong understanding of delegated authority (DUA) and outsourcing arrangements
- Multi-class insurance knowledge (specialty lines preferred)
- Analytical mindset and strong reporting skills (Excel, Power BI or similar)
- Confident communicator with stakeholder management experience in an international setting
- Bonus: experience working in or supporting listed insurance entities; CII qualifications
Ready to elevate your underwriting career?
This is more than just governance — it’s your chance to contribute to how a top-tier reinsurance group shapes and grows its underwriting portfolio globally.
