Overview

Data Curation Information Model Developer. This role focuses on organizing and structuring scientific data to make it easy for R&D teams to find, use, and understand, with data governance and transparent ownership integrated into the process. We are seeking someone with hands-on experience in curating and managing data, who also understands how data can be connected and standardized using ontologies and semantic principles. In the short term, the role will primarily focus on clinical trial design data, with an eventual expansion into other types of scientific data such as clinical trial patient data, real-world data, molecular data, and more. The goal is to create clear and consistent data models based on existing standards that address the needs of R&D, while also supporting the integration of these models into the workflows of various stakeholders. Your work will ensure that data is well-structured and fit-for-purpose, empowering teams to focus on their science and decision-making.

In this role you will

  • Create and maintain scientific data information models
  • Advising on implementation of data information models in clinical trial context
  • Develop and implement a vision and strategy to create and govern scientific data information models to enable storage & accessibility in alignment with the R&D Data Platforms
  • Ensure alignment of governance and data management practice by partnering with enterprise-wide information and data architects, ontology management, data governance groups
  • Partner strongly with the R&D Tech teams and deliver use-cases to address the deficiencies and opportunities that exist to further create and modernise clinical, RWD and bioinformatics data information models
  • Represent the organization in industry forums and collaborate with external partners to advance data information modelling practices

Why you?

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

  • BS/MSc/PhD (or equivalent) in Information Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related subject
  • Hands-on experience in curating and managing data (e.g. consolidating data from different formats like spreadsheets, databases, or raw files into a centralized repository)
  • Understanding of data information modelling (e.g. development of conceptual and logical data models) and governance principles and practices
  • Agile mindset, the ability to iterate improvements based on stakeholder feedback
  • Deep expertise of clinical data and information models like USDM (Unified Study Definition Model), HL7-FHIR, OMOP(CDM), CDISC (ODM: CDASH, SDTM, ADaM) and other industry standards
  • Deep expertise in clinical data regulations, processes and interfaces
  • Experience in driving change in a large global organization

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred; if you do not have them, please still apply:

  • Experience in developing taxonomies and ontologies is an advantage
  • Development of standards through participation in working groups cross-industry
