Job Overview

The post holder will work as part of a team of data management/study coordination staff providing comprehensive data management and trial coordination support to the department.

Responsibilities include ensuring that clinical data required for CRF-adopted trials are completed, validated and returned to study sponsors in an accurate and timely fashion, promoting high quality research within the Trust, nationally and internationally. The post holder will be part of a team that provides the focal point for information requests and queries within the department and will contribute to developing data storage systems and processes as needs evolve. The role requires collaboration with other team members to proactively improve data management within the department.

Key duties include data and data quality management, maintaining records of accrual to trials, and ensuring accurate and timely capture of clinical data from source in accordance with SOPs and study protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team of data/study coordination staff to provide data and trial coordination support in the CRF.
  • Ensure clinical data for CRF-adopted trials is completed, validated, and returned to sponsors accurately and on time.
  • Promote high quality research within the Trust, nationally and internationally.
  • Maintain and develop data storage systems and processes to meet service needs.
  • Be part of the team providing cover for others and proactively improve data management in the department.
  • Maintain records of accrual to trials and ensure accurate data capture from source in line with SOPs and protocols.

Education / Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Good grades in GCSE English, Science and Mathematics
  • GCE A-Levels (or equivalent)

Desirable criteria

  • Degree or equivalent training/experience
  • Formal IT training

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience in handling large quantities of data

Skills/Abilities

Essential criteria

  • Comprehensive IT skills with experience in spreadsheets and databases
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
