Job Overview The Data Officer will be part of the Clinical Research Facility’s (CRF) Research Operations Team, providing comprehensive data management and trial coordination support. The role involves ensuring that clinical data for CRF‑adopted trials are completed, validated and returned to study sponsors accurately and in a timely fashion, and contributing to the development of data storage systems as the service evolves. Responsibilities
Work with a team of data/study coordination staff to support the department’s research activities. Ensure that clinical data required for CRF‑adopted trials are completed, validated and returned to study sponsors in an accurate and timely manner. Promote high‑quality research within the Trust, nationally and internationally. Act as the focal point for information requests and queries within the department. Maintain the highest standard of clinical data collection, entry and transfer of information. Support the development of data storage systems and processes as needs change. Provide coverage for other team members when necessary and actively improve data management processes.
Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
Ensure effective data and data quality management, and reporting for studies within the Clinical Research Facility. Maintain records of trial accrual. Manage database information, maintain patient lists and databases for designated studies. Accurately capture clinical data from source, in compliance with standard operating procedures and study protocols.
Person Specification Education / Qualifications Essential criteria:
Good grades in GCSE English, Science and Mathematics. GCE A‑Levels (or equivalent).
Desirable criteria:
Degree level education or equivalent training or experience. Formal IT training.
Experience Essential criteria:
Experience in handling large quantities of data.
Skills/Abilities Essential criteria:
Comprehensive IT skills, including spreadsheets and databases. Good written and verbal communication skills.
