About the Role
Join us at an exciting time as we embark on our data transformation journey, helping shape a data-driven future of data here at Newcastle Building Society.

Seen as a key role to the success of this, the Data Platform Product Owner, you’ll ensure data products and the platform deliver value to internal stakeholders, third parties and drive business outcomes.

You’ll bridge the gap between data and business goals by understanding problems, aligning business needs with technical capabilities and owning the roadmap to achieve the outcomes of the product.

Alongside managing the product backlog, you’ll define success metrics to track product performance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product development aligns with user needs and technical feasibility.

Working closely with Data Subject Matter Experts, advocating for data management best practice will be a key element of the role, as will facilitating communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

About You
You’ll be an experienced Product Owner with good knowledge of data platforms and warehousing solutions, ideally Azure and Databricks.

Previous experience owning a data platform and products roadmap, the product backlog and user story creation is essential, as is experience using frameworks to prioritise features based on user needs, business impact and technical feasibility.

The ability to articulate complex data concepts and product roadmaps effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences is key for this role, as the ability to solve problems by approaching challenges with a curious mind, digging deep into data to identify root causes and potential solutions.

You’ll be comfortable working in agile methodologies, adapting to change, and delivering products iteratively.
