We are seeking a skilled Data Privacy Director to join The Sage Group plc and its subsidiaries. In this role you will lead the data privacy centre of excellence, manage a global team, and drive our data privacy initiatives while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.
Day in the Life
- Deliver practical, business‑focused legal counsel on privacy and data protection, enabling Sage to meet its legal obligations without losing momentum on its commercial goals.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to identify, assess, and reduce privacy and data protection risks, strengthening a culture of proactive compliance.
- Apply technical insight to track and interpret evolving legislation—especially in the field of artificial intelligence—and stay closely involved in Sage’s AI initiatives to anticipate and manage privacy risks.
What We Are Looking For
- A Data Privacy leader with international experience supporting large, complex organisations.
- A UK qualified lawyer with a specialism in data protection law, proven experience of leading a global team, and solid knowledge of privacy requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong strategic insight paired with exceptional delivery skills, thriving in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment.
- Calm, confident, highly autonomous, able to translate intricate legal and technical concepts into clear, accessible guidance for stakeholders.
- Experience within software or technology businesses is highly desirable.
