Role Purpose

Our purpose within Data & Analytics is to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights, decisions into impact, and ambition into measurable success, that each influence strategy and execution across the business.

Your role as Data Product Owner will involve working with all types of data users and stakeholders across Admiral Money, ensuring that their data needs are well understood, defined and refined into functional data solutions. Working within a team of Data engineering and working with Analytics engineering to create functional data products that are straightforward to find, access, use and reuse.

Responsibilities

Data Product Vision and Strategy

  • Set a clear vision for how data products will deliver business value and enable greater business outcomes.
  • Ensure strategy aligns with business goals and market demands by enabling the business to be successful with the data available.
  • Maintain a product roadmap that considers functional data features and outlines priorities, timelines, and key milestones.

Data Governance and Quality

  • Ensure functional data products adhere to data governance policies.
  • Develop a data product framework to deliver well-governed data products to data users, in the most appropriate way.
  • Ensure appropriate data security measures are in place and observable.

Product Management

  • Oversee the development lifecycle of functional data products.
  • Deliver well defined and managed functional data products, enabling data consumers to be better informed
  • Prioritise features and tasks based on business value and impact.
  • Develop a data product framework to deliver products to data users.

Performance Monitoring & Management

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for data products.
  • Ensure the reliability, maintainability and useability of the data products created through the Data Platform. Working with Data Governance and Data Engineering to determine quality measures and Metrics.
  • Gather user feedback to continuously improve the functional data product and its features.
  • Report on product performance to senior management

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience working in a Data related field
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
  • Experience in leveraging Cloud technologies, such as AWS Cloud, GCP or Azure for Data and Analytical purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Translating complex business and technical concepts into clear, understandable deliverables and feeding back appropriately to stakeholders
  • Excellent prioritisation skills, to ensure the squad understand and work on the most important items
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams.

Desirable

  • Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Data Science, Business Administration.
  • Proficient data analysis tooling and coding (e.g., SQL, Python, Sagemaker or Azure ML Services)
  • Demonstrable experience in an Agile set up as a BA or Product Owner in which a Product Owner was present, or experience in a Product Ownership function
  • Experience using Agile working tools (i.e. Jira, Confluence, version control tooling, or other any similar technologies)
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
