Location: London/Liverpool / Hybrid

Role Summary: The difference you will make as Data Protection, AI Governance & Freedom Of Information Business Partner. You will support the Group Head of Data Protection, Transparency and AI Governance and the Lead Data Protection and AI Governance Business Partner in executing their duties. You will act as the first point of contact within the Group for queries relating to data protection, freedom of information and related legislation. Ideally, you will administer and manage statutory records held by the Data Protection Team (including mailboxes) and administer all information rights requests (retrieving data, reviewing, redacting and applying exemptions) within strict statutory deadlines.

Responsibilities
Role Profile
- Support the Group Head of Data Protection, Transparency and AI Governance and the Lead Data Protection and AI Governance Business Partner
- Act as first point of contact for queries relating to data protection, freedom of information and associated legislation
- Provide practical second line advice, guidance and support to relevant areas of the Group
- Administer and manage all statutory records held by the Data Protection Team, including mailboxes
- Administer information rights requests (retrieving data, reviewing, redacting and applying exemptions) within statutory deadlines
- Administer FOISA/FOIA requests within deadlines
- Define and develop the FOISA process, including publication scheme development for Riverside Scotland
- Champion information rights and provide guidance to colleagues, customers, partners and suppliers
- Support DPIA processes within the Group
- Assist in reviewing contracts for data protection compliance (data processors, information sharing agreements, etc.)
- Prepare papers for relevant committee/board meetings
- Produce management information on breaches, risk, and statutory timeframes
- Prepare renewals for registrations/subscriptions (e.g., ICO)
- Coordinate and develop regular internal data privacy communications
- Support business functions in developing controls for DPA and FoIA compliance
AI Governance
- Develop and implement the group\'s AI governance framework and best practices
- Maintain up-to-date records of all AI systems, projects, models, and third-party engagements
- Support documentation and cataloguing of AI initiatives
- Advise on organisational controls to support AI governance
- Assess reputational, cultural, legal and regulatory risks related to AI systems
- Participate in AI risk classification, assessment and mitigation
- Conduct due diligence and risk evaluations for AI initiatives with external vendors
- Assist in regular AI compliance reports and dashboards
- Assist in training programs on AI ethics, governance, risk and compliance
- Promote responsible AI practices and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support responsible AI practices
Cross Team Working
- Drive cohesion between the DP & AI Governance team and other functions within Information Governance
- Support the Group Head to ensure the team acts as a true second line of defense
- Ensure excellent service for colleagues and customers when providing advice and support
Other

- Maintain the register of processing activity for the Group
- Contribute to testing of compliance with policy and processes
- Promote continuous improvement in DP, FoIA and compliance matters
- Work with colleagues who have other Information Governance responsibilities

- The Group has offices across the UK; travel to other locations may be required

Person Specification
Essential
- Understanding of Data Protection, Freedom of Information and related legislation
- Good level of IT skills and literacy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with good analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritise workload and stay organized
- Proactive in setting goals and achieving deadlines
Desirable
- Experience in a highly regulated customer-focused sector
