Overview

Data Protection, Information Access and Complaints Officer role at UK Regulators' Network. Regulator of Social Housing regulator role described; a 2 year fixed-term contract opportunity. This position supports compliance with data protection and information access legislation and responds to complaints. The role involves working across the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) to ensure effective information rights management.

Responsibilities

• Manage responses to information requests made to the Regulator of Social Housing under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018), Freedom of Information Act 2000, and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, including responses to requests for re-use of information.
• Collaborate with colleagues to identify and retrieve information, assess applicable exemptions or exceptions, consult third parties where necessary, and prepare responses.
• Review and update the regulator’s privacy notices; ensure procurement processes are fit for purpose.
• Participate in staff training; provide reports on performance in responding to information access requests; support information management activities within the regulator.
• Oversee the smooth running of the complaints process and prepare responses to complaints about the regulator.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Knowledge and experience of responding to Freedom of Information, Data Protection, or Environmental Information requests.
• Ability to work across the Regulator of Social Housing and contribute to compliance with information rights legislation.
