We’re seeking a skilled Data Warehouse Developer to lead the development of a new MySQL-based data warehouse that will unify all business data sources on a 4-6 month contract. This is a hands‑on contract role with immediate impact—ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced environments and enjoys building robust, scalable data infrastructure from the ground up. You’ll be responsible for architecting the warehouse, integrating diverse datasets, and ensuring the final product is secure, compliant, and performance-optimized. Once launched, you’ll transition into modernising reporting workflows and migrating legacy reports to Power BI. About You
Architect, design, and build a MySQL data warehouse, including schema and data models. Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from multiple business systems. Optimise database performance for fast, reliable data access and reporting. Troubleshoot and resolve data‑related issues, including pipeline failures and inconsistencies. Document data models, processes, and architectural decisions clearly and thoroughly. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored data solutions. Redevelop existing reports from various platforms and data sources into Power BI, aligned with the new warehouse.
Key Skills & Experience
Advanced SQL skills for complex data manipulation, aggregation, and retrieval (MySQL preferred). Experience with ETL tools such as MS SSIS, Azure Data Factory (ADF), or Lobster. Strong grasp of data modelling techniques including dimensional modelling and normalisation. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.Clear communication skills for engaging both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
