Join to apply for the Databricks Architect role at CGI.
Position Description: At CGI, we empower our clients to transform how they harness the power of data, delivering measurable outcomes that drive growth and innovation. As our Databricks Architect, you will shape strategic opportunities with Databricks, influence key decisions, and accelerate value for clients. From crafting compelling architectures to delivering proof-of-value solutions, you will help position CGI at the forefront of data and AI transformation, while collaborating with partners and clients to unlock the true potential of the Databricks Lakehouse. This is an exciting opportunity to lead from the front, make a lasting impact, and grow your career within a culture that champions ownership, creativity, and collaboration.
CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will own the technical side of the sales cycle, acting as the trusted advisor to Databricks sales teams and CGI clients. You will qualify opportunities, shape winning solutions, and drive the technical decision by building compelling architectures, delivering high-value demos, and leading proof-of-value engagements. Working across industries and cloud platforms, you will collaborate with CGI colleagues and partners to create scalable, innovative solutions that address client challenges.
Your work will directly influence business outcomes, from accelerating time-to-value to securing technical wins, while also enabling and mentoring CGI teams. By combining technical depth with commercial awareness, you will be instrumental in growing CGI’s Databricks practice and helping clients embrace the future of data-driven innovation.
- Lead & Influence: Act as the primary technical contact for Databricks sellers, shaping opportunities from lead to technical win.
- Design & Deliver: Build target architectures and fast proof-of-value solutions across Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, DBSQL, MLflow, and beyond.
- Advise & Present: Run discovery workshops, executive readouts, and ROI/value framing sessions to win client confidence.
- Collaborate & Mentor: Work alongside CGI sales and delivery teams, while coaching engineers moving into pre-sales roles.
- Evangelise & Grow: Share insights through talks, meetups, and thought leadership; refine and scale CGI’s Databricks go-to-market approach.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
To succeed, you will bring strong Databricks expertise, proven pre-sales experience, and the ability to guide technical decisions with authority and clarity. You should be equally confident at the whiteboard, in executive conversations, and hands-on in building quick proof-of-value solutions.
- Deep hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, DBSQL, Workflows/Jobs, MLflow).
- Proven track record in pre-sales/solutions architecture, from discovery to close.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of cloud architecture, security, and data governance (Azure/AWS essential; GCP desirable).
- Practical build skills in Python and SQL for demo pipelines and analytics notebooks.
- Commercial acumen in scoping, estimating, and SoW creation.
- Collaborative approach and ability to mentor and enable others.

That’s why we call ourselves CGI Partners rather than employees. We benefit from our collective success and actively shape our company’s strategy and direction. Your work creates value. You’ll develop innovative solutions and build relationships with teammates and clients while accessing global capabilities to scale your ideas, embrace new opportunities, and benefit from expansive industry and technology expertise. You’ll shape your career by joining a company built to grow and last. You’ll be supported by leaders who care about your health and well-being and provide you with opportunities to deepen your skills and broaden your horizons.
