Location: Northampton, UK - 2 days/week
Purpose of the role
To support the portfolio management team in delivering successful projects, ensuring that portfolio management processes and practices align with controls and governance standards, and that projects support the organization's strategic objectives.
Accountabilities
- Facilitate portfolio prioritization, ensuring compliance with the control framework, including oversight of controls and standards.
- Support effective portfolio governance, enabling data-driven decision making, and ensuring timely and fit-for-purpose executive reporting.
- Monitor portfolio performance, track project progress, identify risks and issues, and report to senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage the Portfolio Book of Work, prioritizing change initiatives considering resources, stakeholder buy-in, and risks.
- Oversee change delivery to ensure alignment with policies and standards, monitor control adherence, and drive improvements in control maturity.
- Review and escalate portfolio risks and issues, supporting their resolution.
- Engage stakeholders through clear communication and effective portfolio management processes.
- Promote an environment of effective delivery, leveraging data and expertise for accountability and transparency.
- Provide best practice guidance to embed controls and governance across the portfolio.

- Lead a team in complex tasks, set objectives, coach, and appraise performance.

- Engage in complex data analysis from various sources to solve problems creatively.
- Communicate complex or sensitive information effectively.
- Influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
