Deputy Head of Financial Planning and Analysis – Birmingham
Sellick Partnership is seeking a Deputy Head of Financial Planning and Analysis for a Public Sector client based in Birmingham.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver monthly Management Accounts.
- Manage Budgeting and Forecasting processes.
- Analyse financial data and generate detailed reports.
- Present financial information to senior stakeholders.
- Deliver the month‑end closedown process, resolving issues promptly.
- Produce monthly income and expenditure variance analysis.
- Support the external audit process with timely and accurate submissions.
- Lead the annual budget setting (c. £335m income) and five‑year forecast including reporting to Finance Committee and Board of Governors.
- Develop and maintain the five‑year forecast model, incorporating balance sheet and cash flow forecasts.
- Review and improve income forecasting (c. £260m) ensuring accuracy.
Person Specification
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA).
- Strong communication skills, able to present detailed financial information clearly to non‑financial specialists.
- Excellent IT skills, including advanced Excel and experience with finance/accounting systems such as Oracle or other corporate information systems.
