The Role

As the Deputy Head of In‑Service Support (ISS), you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will support our customers in delivering on their missions and creating a safe and secure world. This programme provides a critical role in connecting our front‑line commands, government partners and allies, and is an important capability for ensuring UK security and prosperity.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll be responsible for driving cohesion of activities across multiple delivery teams, functions and stakeholders to deliver outcomes, acting as the right‑hand person of the Head of ISS (In Service Support). You will support the promotion of our space communication capabilities, working with the Head of Service Delivery, Head of ISS, and the Head of Integration to ensure we maintain the integrity of our service delivery while transforming our service for the future.

  • Deputy leadership of technical and service delivery ISS teams, building a strong delivery ethos with collaborative behaviours and a positive culture.
  • Safety, regulatory compliance and cyber security of our products, services and infrastructure.
  • Ensuring appropriate governance and process across the ISS teams, including delegation of technical authority and decision making, and compliance with the Mission Systems processes.
  • Delivering on customer and end‑user service commitments while maintaining commercial and financial commitments to the Mission Systems sector.
  • Proactively identifying new solutions and technologies to improve our capability offering.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home. You will be required onsite as and when the business needs dictate.

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of leading high‑performing teams with exceptional people skills.
  • Experience in technical delivery, service delivery and business management.
  • Experience in strategic communications, space‑based communications or telecommunications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Business or Engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience. Business Masters degree preferable.
  • Must hold a valid UK Driving License.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who can achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
