About the role
The Children and Families Department takes a strengths‑based approach to working with children, young people and families, and our partner agencies. We call this 'Our Nottinghamshire Approach'. Watch the two minute animation to learn more.
We are seeking a Deputy Principal Educational Psychologist to lead our growing Educational Psychology Service (EPS). We are a strong and supportive team who meet regularly and work closely together on shared priorities. This is a full‑time, permanent position and a new post as part of our expanding establishment.
Our Team
Nottinghamshire EPS uses a strength‑based, collaborative and consultative service delivery model. We work to promote social inclusion and social justice for all Nottinghamshire children and young people, especially those in the most vulnerable situations. We also deliver training, research and project work to promote early intervention and high‑quality support and CPD across a range of education and social care settings.
What We Are Looking For
A dynamic individual who is keen to join a collaborative leadership team.
Someone who can offer leadership, support and guidance to our educational psychology teams and senior leadership.
Someone with strong personal resilience and the ability to make decisions and facilitate problem‑solving in complex situations.
Strong application of psychology to support the inclusion of children in vulnerable situations including children with SEND, children in care, previously in care and children with a social worker, children at risk of exclusion from education and children involved in the youth justice system.
What We Can Offer You
Regular psychological supervision and the opportunity to be part of a collaborative leadership team.
The opportunity to lead and shape an expanding Educational Psychology Service, committed to delivering a range of service activities including statutory duties.
Regular continuing professional development opportunities.
Opportunities to join and lead on strategic projects across the Local Area SEND Partnership and other areas of joint working in the local area.
Supportive and flexible working arrangements, agreed with you to meet your needs and to get the best from you as a team member. Your typical working week will likely include a hybrid mix of online and in‑person activities.
