Support the Regional Clinical Lead to ensure compliance with statutory and mandatory training requirements and ensure that all clinical staff across the region comply with the requirements, managing concerns at a local level before escalating to the Regional Clinical Lead. Provide induction, training and support to new staff and ensure that their development needs are appropriately met in line with NUPAS competency assessment training frameworks. Undertake appraisals with identified clinical staff to identify development needs. In conjunction with the Regional Clinical Lead, ensure learning needs have been identified through the appraisal process. To manage own workload in line with NUPAS visions and values. To engage in own supervision and development to ensure clinical knowledge is up to date.QualificationsEssentialCurrent Nurse and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration as a Registered Nurse (Sub part 1 of the NMC register)/Registered Midwife. Up to date knowledge and experience of working in a sexual health/TOP/gynae service. Identify and escalate any risk or safeguarding concerns to senior colleagues and actively seek to reduce or eliminate those concerns identified in a positive manner. To embrace safeguarding mechanisms and support staff, patients and supporters at times when safeguarding principles need to be applied.DesirableProfessional nurse education teaching qualifications. Faculty of Reproductive Sexual Health Care (FSRH Letter of Competence in intrauterine techniques i.e. IUS/IDU fitter). Recognised qualification in Independent/Supplementary Prescribing. Ultrasound scanning experience in first and second stage trimester.ExperienceEssential: Ability to communicate effectively, identify and quickly defuse challenging situations, understand boundaries, and work in a sensitive, confidential and non-judgemental way.
