What You'll Do

  • Lead the design team to carry out design studies (independent and in teams) to solve technical issues identified during product development.
  • Gather insight from professional and consumer feedback and guide the team in implementing it into streamlined design solutions.
  • Develop a team of high‑performers, helping them reach their full potential.
  • Manage the hiring and expansion of the team in line with business growth in the category.
  • Own designs through conception, CAD execution, prototyping and verification, ensuring consistent progress and outcomes.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve designs for cost efficiency, manufacturing improvements, increased quality and added value for consumers.
  • Apply sound engineering and product‑design standards to deliver real solutions.
  • Leverage experience of high‑volume manufacturing processes and materials to optimise designs.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with the U.S. and China‑based Product Development teams, multi‑functional teams and executive teams to ensure great ideas make it to production.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree‑level technical qualification – ideally in Product Design Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineering.
  • Typically 2+ years of people‑management experience.
  • Typically 7–10 years of proven experience in a mechanical, product design or industrial design environment.
  • Experience in the consumer goods household appliance space is desirable.
  • Experience in plastic manufacturing processes.
  • Experience delivering products from concept to market.
  • High proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo, with demonstrable experience leading CAD reviews.
  • Ability to motivate the team to identify, solve, implement and verify technical solutions autonomously.
  • Experience managing the hands‑on – building prototypes, product testing in the lab, development and reporting.
  • Flexible and collaborative mindset.
  • Positive, driving attitude with an inquisitive nature.
  • Appreciation for electrical engineering, software and UX design helpful but not essential.
