FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Design Manager to strengthen their team at their Rickmansworth office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Water Recycling West Storm Overflow design team in delivering all catchment and pipeline solutions within the designated program area.
• Deliver a programme focused on combined sewer overflows (CSOs) and sewage treatment works storm overflows, valued at approximately £100M.
• Develop innovative solutions that prioritize outcomes over outputs to reduce carbon and enhance efficiency, following the PAS 2080 hierarchy.
• Collaborate with the Water Recycling West Treatment Design Managers to develop catchment-based solutions that address network challenges while considering the potential impacts on water treatment facilities.
• Develop innovative solutions that prioritize outcomes over outputs to reduce carbon and enhance efficiency, following the PAS 2080 hierarchy.
• Spearhead the development, implementation, and management of Engineering Project Plans to oversee scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resources.
• Work closely with Discipline Lead Engineers to offer guidance on suitable design approaches for engineering tasks.
• Support your team in creating designs that adhere to Health & Safety, Environmental, Construction, Procurement, Customer, and Anglian Water Operations standards.

Requirements

• A degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience with wastewater (sewage) assets, including the design of gravity sewers, foul rising mains, pumping stations, attenuation tanks, and various related construction techniques.
• Preferably chartered, or working towards, chartered status.
• Preferable experience of water-sector assets and capital projects.
