Design Team Manager | 12 Month Contract | Outside IR35

I am seeking a Design Team Manager on a 12-month contract for a construction firm in London. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with 3 days per week in their London office.

Key Experience/Responsibilities:

• Co-managing a team of 12 Electrical Engineers and 3 CAD Technicians.
• Managing the delivery of electrical designs to support 4G & 5G infrastructure installation on the London Underground.
• Previous LU/TfL project experience is preferable but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design processes, deliverables, and software packages is required.
• The role may suit a Senior/Principal/Associate Electrical Engineer with team and project management experience, or a Design Manager with a strong technical background.
• Experience working on contractor side is preferred over exclusive consultancy experience.
• Additional key responsibilities include:
• Managing the design programme.
• Liaising with clients and third parties.
• Addressing design issues and supporting team members with their design work.
• Conducting technical reviews of electrical design packages.
• Providing management support to the CAD team.
• Organising surveys conducted by the installation team.
• Managing resources and assisting with recruitment if needed.
• Raising queries to clients and TfL, and resolving design blockers upstream.
• Holding third parties and clients accountable for information and responses related to designs and queries.
