Job Purpose
You'll ensure compliance with relevant statuary Water Regulations, Water Quality Regulations and United Utilities conditions of service through technical inspections and investigations.
Carrying out Pipe inspections and make customer visits to offer advice, guidance and support to customers and developers. Undertaking routine and targeted audits of work execution on new sites to ensure data quality and up to date site intelligence both during and at the end of their construction.
You'll give United Utilities assurance regarding the quality of the water assets that we are constructing and or adopting, that will minimise future disruption/liability from inadequate working practices. Supporting the illegal connections team by undertaking site based audits where non-compliance of UU policies/processes has been identified and monitor any agreed remedial actions are undertaken by the appropriate parties, within agreed timescales.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with relevant statuary Water Regulations, Water Quality Regulations and UU conditions of service through technical inspections and investigations.
- Carry out pipe inspections in line with the business operating model for planned work types including all new Domestic and Commercial connections to the water network. The inspection will include the supply pipe and all associated fittings Meter housing, manifold, stop tap, drain off and primary back flow prevention.
- Point of contact for the Developer Representative (Site Manager), SLP/agent and UU Technical Team. Ensure up to date site progression/status – Plots built, connected and meter installed, not yet built. On a proactive/reactive basis.
- To ensure all new adoptable assets are visible and operable following installation prior to adoption and handover to water network
- Undertake site based audits where non-compliance of UU policies/processes have not been adhered to. To monitor that any agreed remedial actions are taken by the appropriate parties, within agreed SLA’s. Including demolished/rebuild sites where permanent disconnections may be required.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Ability to provide onsite advice andguidance to customers with the capability to enforce the Water Fittings Regulations whilst maintaining excellent customer service.
- To read and understand complex technical drawings in order to comment or grant approval under Water Fittings Regulation
- A good level of competency in the use of IT packages including Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, JIRA, GS.
- Ability to set own targets – flexibility to manage multiple priorities, working to changing deadlines and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service focus and be able to resolve customer issues.
- Full UK Driving Licence
