The Development Manager (Philanthropy and Fundraising) position at The Carers' Centre offers an exciting opportunity to lead income generation efforts for a forward-thinking local charity. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new sources of unrestricted income, strengthening existing streams, and building relationships with supporters.
Success will be measured through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as campaign engagement, donor retention, and income growth. We seek a visionary strategist who thrives on collaboration and is committed to securing the long-term sustainability of The Carers' Centre, ensuring a brighter future for unpaid carers. Your responsibilities include cultivating impactful donor relationships and building a dynamic fundraising team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic planning and implementation of income generation activities to support the Centre's sustainability.
- Develop and implement stewardship programmes for donors and funders.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver the Centre's vision for carers.
- Design and deliver a diverse income generation plan aligned with the Strategic Plan.
- Set and coordinate annual fundraising targets.
- Build relationships with philanthropists, donors, and funders.
- Research and develop compelling projects and proposals for donors.
- Coordinate communications campaigns for supporter engagement.
- Contribute to communications and marketing strategies, ensuring fundraising is embedded.
- Develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures.
Line Management:
- Support and manage direct reports to maximize their potential.
- Promote health and wellbeing among team members.
General Responsibilities:
- Uphold the Centre's values and behavioural competencies.
- Deliver work plans and adhere to policies, including GDPR and Fundraising Regulator guidelines.
- Encourage feedback from carers and involve them in service shaping.
- Work with the Carbon Champion to reduce the organisation's carbon footprint.
Ideal candidates will have proven experience in philanthropy and income generation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to craft compelling proposals. Knowledge of fundraising legislation and stakeholder relationship management are essential.
