What is the role?
The purpose of the role is to carry out planning and development appraisals, and to prepare and submit planning and other related applications within the residential sector for both immediate and strategic sites.
What you\'ll do as a Development Planner
- Produce site assessments, analyze planning histories and policies, interpret material considerations, and prepare new site appraisals for immediate and strategic sites to meet deadlines and support the Land team.
- Prepare and project manage different types of planning applications (Outline/Full/Reserved Matters) and the discharge of planning conditions to enable site development.
- Liaise with internal layout designers, external consultants, and planning authorities to develop strong working relationships.
- Prepare Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements, and other planning documents to support applications accurately and on time.
- Organise supporting information and attend stakeholder/public consultations with professionalism to build public confidence.
- Contribute to planning strategies that promote medium/long-term development sites through the plan-making process, under guidance of the Planning Manager.
- On occasion, deputise for the Head of Planning to provide support to the team.
- Monitor development plan progress and local planning authority policy documents.
What experience do I need?
- Experience in development management/planning policy in either private or public sector.
- Degree or Masters in Planning with RTPI accreditation and broad knowledge of town planning.
- Ability to adapt to change and work accurately under pressure.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
