Job Description
This role is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Cloud DevSecOps Engineer to perform a pivotal role in a continuing program of Cloud adoption. The main requirement is to work alongside existing engineering resources on our Cloud DC migration workstream, augmenting the existing team and providing technical mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentorship and training: provide mentorship and training to existing engineers and other team members on IAC and Terraform. Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions using IAC delivery methods within Azure. This involves selecting appropriate services, configuring them to meet specific requirements, and ensuring they are integrated seamlessly with existing systems.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and management: use infrastructure-as-code (Terraform & Azure DevOps) to automate the deployment, scaling, and management of cloud infrastructure, maintaining consistency, reducing manual errors, and speeding up deployment processes.
- Develop standards and best practices around DevSecOps deployments, particularly in respect of IaC using Terraform.
- Collaborate with development teams: work closely with development and engineering teams to integrate cloud services into applications with IAC delivery, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring the cloud infrastructure supports application needs.
- Ensure security and compliance of cloud infrastructure by aligning with the Cloud Adoption Framework and security governance to comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Documentation and reporting: maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and processes; generate regular reports on cloud resource usage, performance metrics, and security compliance for stakeholders.
- Adhere to Chaucer corporate values and CTG strategy supporting key business objectives.
- Prioritise and manage workload effectively.
Regulatory Responsibilities
- Adhere to Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Code of Conduct, Information Security policies, Audit Procedures, and any control related policy.
- Extensive knowledge of Azure Platform services including Compute, Storage, Networking (vNet, vWan, Peering, NSGs, ASGs), Azure Policy, RBAC, Recovery Services.
- Extensive knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Terraform & Azure DevOps; scripting and automation skills and tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, Visual Studio Code, Git, YAML.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems and related architecture.
- Deep knowledge of networking topologies and protocols.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID interoperability and integration.
- Experience of Azure PaaS solutions such as Logic Apps, Power Platform, Service Bus, etc.
Education & Qualifications (Certifications)
- AZ-400, HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification, Windows Server OS 2016 and later versions, Windows Active Directory/Entra ID, ITIL Certification.
