Overview

DevOps Engineer with strong Kubernetes experience and virtualization experience is needed to support our Higher Education client to implement infrastructure as code pipelines for deploying research-supporting applications within social science applications.

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing infrastructure as code pipelines for deploying research-supporting applications and associated services on private cloud (on-prem) infrastructure using Virtual Machines and Kubernetes.

Essential Experience

• Experience deploying applications with Kubernetes
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code development (Terraform)
• Ability to liaise with end-users to gather requirements, ensuring that application deployments meet their needs and that available resources are used efficiently
• Experience working on virtualization projects, awareness of VMware
• Experience using Ansible and GitHub

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of public/private cloud
• Experience within a Higher Education environment, particularly working with research/academic stakeholders to translate their requirements into technical solutions
• Knowledge of Python and Rstudio or Rancher or Kubernetes cluster on Harvester

Additional Information

• Hybrid working with 1-2 days per week on site in central London
• Pay rate £510.00 per day inside IR35
