Job Summary

We are looking for a Director of Digital Innovation to join the East of England Diagnostic Network Team. The network team has expanded to include four diagnostic networks: Pathology, Imaging, Endoscopy and Physiological Sciences. Our collaborative approach is central to our operations, and we are committed to supporting our trusts within the procurement domain.

For this role you will need previous experience working at a senior level within the digital function of a diagnostic network team and implementing AI solutions. This post is fixed term until 31 March 2026. Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only.

Main Duties

  • Strategic planning, tactical action and operational decision-making to fulfil the Network’s strategies.
  • Development, implementation and maintenance of the Network’s IT infrastructure, applications, projects and procurement.
  • Delivery of AI solutions, ensuring the network’s business needs are met.
  • Effective management and monitoring of third‑party suppliers, ensuring delivery of cost‑effective and efficient services.
  • Interpret NHS National guidance, policy and strategy and be responsible for the overall delivery of digital and information services.

Person Specification – Essential

  • Significant senior management experience in a complex environment.
  • Experience of managing large‑scale projects.
  • Experience of service redesign and business engineering.
  • Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in national and European data protection laws and practices, including in‑depth understanding of GDPR.
  • Knowledge of Network and Information Systems (NIS) Regulations 2018.

Qualifications – Essential

  • Degree level in an information or computer science subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent experience and knowledge.
  • Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge acquired through degree supplement by specialist training to doctorate or equivalent level, management qualification or equivalent experience.
