About the Role

Exciting opportunity for a Digital Product Owner to join our Product team within motoring retail. This role is ideal for a strong problem solver who enjoys stepping into the customer’s shoes and collaborating with product development to deliver impactful solutions that maximise the value of products for Halfords Group. You will be responsible for defining the roadmap, setting priorities, and ensuring clear outcomes. This position spans a broad product range, offering variety and breadth, where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to gather and understand detailed business needs, requirements, impacts, risks, and benefits.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap aligned with strategic goals, prioritising epics, features, and user stories to guide the scrum team effectively.
  • Translate the product vision into compelling storytelling, clear specifications, and outcomes that inspire and direct the development teams.
  • Lead sprint planning sessions by clarifying requirements, defining sub-tasks, and actively resolving product-related issues to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Make informed decisions through trade-off analysis, draft key objectives and results, and apply data insights to drive business outcomes.
  • Track, measure, and report benefits realisation against objectives and forecasts, ensuring value is delivered consistently.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders throughout product visioning, concept development, and backlog prioritisation to maximise customer value and integration across end-to-end experiences.
  • Act as the product ambassador internally and externally, managing communications, addressing queries, and leading consultations with Product Council stakeholders to maintain transparency and alignment.

About You

  • Results-oriented individual driven to deliver projects to a high standard and on time.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident in managing stakeholders, multitasking, and prioritising key responsibilities effectively.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Agile Scrum methodology, including writing user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Experienced in using analysis tools and techniques such as wireframes and business process modelling to support solution design.
  • Solid understanding of technical terminology, software development practices, and web/mobile technologies, with a preference for technical or e-commerce backgrounds.
  • Strong facilitation and communication abilities to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, including leading workshops.
  • Proficient with work management tools like Jira, Trello, and Confluence, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within Scrum teams.
  • Proactive in taking ownership, capable of making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
